newbie can't get ddblock to work

Hi
I'm new to drupal and am experimenting with themes, content and modules etc. I'm really hoping to be able to get ddblock working on my site and have been through the installation and double checked all of my file paths several times, but am just not able to get it to display.

When I am logged in, all I see is a grey square with a red cross in the corner. When I am not logged in, I see nothing.

Have a look at the trouble shooting part of the FAQ.
Also you can try search the issue queue on drupal.org
If you can not find the solution please make an issue in the issue queue.
