Filter Nodes to Show in ddblock with views

I have a question regarding filtering what nodes show in ddblock advanced slideshow.
I have content type for real estate listings that I am using in my advanced slideshow (using the slideshow to show properties)

I want to be able to further filter "which" properties show in the slideshow - as I don't want them all to end up there.
I have tried adding additional filters to the view, however any additional filters I add makes ddblock disappear from the site?

I of course have the filters for node=published, and the correct type but I'd like to narrow this down to have a way to only show 5 nodes in the slideshow of my choosing.

a checkbox or simply based on "yes" or "no" being entered into a text field would be perfect (which is what I tried but slideshow disappears).

filter nodes in view

I have tried this (checkbox), also tried using an integer to determine which to show (intending to use multiple ddblocks on the website). The filter works, but only the titles display, no images, no pager, no slide text (the title slides in as it should, however). I am using the advanced display with news_items, etc. as in the tutorial if that helps.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Please create an issue in the issue queue of the module.
Explain what you want to accomplish, what steps you did, what is different.

Please provide as much information as possible, so I can give accurate answers. e.g template.php file, result of debug lines, link to site or screenshots, page source.

What you suggest to solve your issue should work perfectly.

If you want to choose yourself with a checkbox in the node if you want to show the node in the dynamic display block slideshow.

  1. Create a new field in the content type for the checkbox
  2. In the view, filter on the checkbox

Should work perfectly
