Want to show block only on Hoe page and not any other page

Hello,

I just installed DDBlock and everything seems to work fine.
But How I restrict the block to show only on from or home page and not any other page

Re: Want to show block only on Hoe page and not any other page

To show the dynamic display block slideshow only on the front page of your Drupal site, you can use <front> in the block visibility settings.

Hope this helps you further.

OMG

great!!.....very nice!!
thanks....

Navigate to Administer > Site configuration > ddblock

Navigate to Administer > Site configuration > Dynamic display block in the admin menu does not show up. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a sideshow to work on my website, and i thought i had it with DDblock, however even when i followed all the steps and installed all the modules needed, the admin menu for the module does not show. I have DDblock enabled in my admin/modules menu and all the dependencies are there and enabled. Anyone else having this issue? can anyone guess a cause or a solution? Im stumped. By all means and testing ive done, it should be working, i can not find a place where it is broken.

All help is much appreciated,
Rnolette

Do not write full path under

Do not write full path under Image folder settings like sites/default/files/ddblock (lets assume image folder is ddblock), just write 'ddblock' there

also having this problem

it's pretty frustrating - I am sure I am logged in as user id 1.

Re: also having this problem

Please make an issue in the issue queue of the module. Please describe more what steps you followed and if possible give a link to the internet site, so I can help you better.

Same problem

wasted a day on this. I think it is just to get you to paid support.

Re: Same problem

I give about 1-3 hours of free support every day for the module.
Hope you understand what this means, when I read a post like yours.

Similar problem. Can you pointme to a resource?

Hi,

I am on 6.16 Drupal and having the same problem. Do you have a resource or answer you can point me to?

Thanks

Language problem (i18n)

Hi,

Very useful module! Only one thing: I noticed that my block's images won't display if I change language. I use i18n and I can see my images only with english (en) selected. Is there a solution to that?

Thank you,
Andrew

Strange Problem

Hi,

Though I was able to configure the ddblock on my site correctly.. However I am facing a a very strange problem. I wish to show the ddblock slideshow on my home page even when no user is logged in. However its not possible to see the slideshow unless the user logs into the website. I am using the pixture_reloaded theme for my site.

I really appreciate your timely help for all the ddblock users like me. Thanks.

Re: Strange Problem

You need to set permissions to view the dynamic display blocks at administer > User management > Permissions

Hope this helps you further

Really nice and extremely useful module. Thanks :-)

Hey ,
Congrats firstly on creating such a wonderful module. Also , I jst need ur help on one petty thing. I am currently using Drupal 6.9 and not really sure where to place the images to be displayed in the Dynamic Block.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: place image files

You can use every directory relative to the root of drupal

If you use an imagefolder as input for the dynamic display block module the ddblock module will look for the images relative to the root of drupal.

If you want to use sites/default/files you put this in the imagefolder settigs of the configuration screen

Edit Admin: From version RC6 the path where ddblock finds the images is changed. It find the images now relative to the drupal file path set at Administer > Site configuration > File system.

Hope this answers your question.

Yep did.. get dat ... Thanks

Quick configuration in 10 steps doesn't work

Hello!
I am using Drupal 6.9, and trying to make DDblock rc4 work for my site. I am following the "Quick configuration in 10 steps" guide but all i get is a title, and a blank space underneath, where the picture should be. Firebug detects that block, but don't know how to proceed. Any ideas?

Re: Quick configuration in 10 steps doesn't work

The directory containing the files should be relative to drupal root, so your path to store the files would be

drupalroot/files/images/ddblock/

instead of

drupalroot/sites/default/files/images/ddblock/

In the next version of the module the path will be relative to the drupal file path in the settings.

Hope this helps you further. please let me know.

Also cannot get it to work

Hi,
I have as my System file path sites/default/files. The path I have for the "Image Folder" is /ddblock. I tried sites/default/files/ddblock and it did not work,
I am using the Basic Slideshow with the Cover feature.
I also set up a Block and activated it for the Header.
Homepage is a static masthead, all other pages are to be used with the ddblock slideshow.

Appreciate any assistance ASAP.

Thanks

Re: can't get ddblock to work. I

I don't see any ddblock at your site. Can you place the ddblock in one of the regions of your theme?

Couldn't manage to get it on

Couldn't manage to get it on any region!
It just didn't show up
:(

Re: Couldn't manage to get it on

What functionality of the dynamic display block module are you trying to use?
Go to administer > Site Building > Blocks
and place your block in a region of your theme.

i know what he mean

Hy guys, i know exactly what you mean.

I have followed the config steps, im shure about public mode and the right path to files. All i got to work was the title of the ddblock in composite, but he does not show up in any region.

could it be a problem of the wrong php-version? I already had to get drupal work with a php action handler.

or there is an entry to make, when set the block for images, about the content container...default set to img. but if a change there, nothing happens.

cheerio, i d'love to get that module running

Fixed!

Thanks to Philip, it was just a missunderstood.

If you set the path in your file system to "sites/default/files" and your folder with the pictures is in the folder "sites/default/files/images", you just need to enter the foldername: "images" cause the module is referenzing to the rootfolder where your filesystem settings point to.

I would describe it like that:

enter the path relating to your settings in file system (e.g. your file system is: sites/default/files, your folder is in there named "images", you enter "images" to the ddblock settings.)

just to let dummies know this too :-)

ddblock directory?

This is what i thought. However that approach is not working for me. All i can see is the name of the block. Besides admin above said:

The directory containing the files should be relative to drupal root, so your path to store the files would be

drupalroot/files/images/ddblock/

instead of

drupalroot/sites/default/files/images/ddblock/

This also seems to contradicts exile_ch's solution.

I am very interested in getting this to work.

Re: ddblock directory?

It's what exile_ch says.

It was relative to the drupal root in earlier version of the module, but in the newest versions it is relative to the drupal file path.

(see the sentence: "In the next version of the module the path will be relative to the drupal file path in the settings", in the same comment you refer to.)

Hope this helps you further, please let me know.
